To raise a concern please speak to your child's class teacher.

If your child is absent and we don't hear from you, we will:

  1. Text or call the numbers we have on file.
  2. Contact emergency contacts if we cannot reach you.
  3. Visit your home if we cannot make contact.
  4. Refer to the Police if necessary, as part of our safeguarding duty.

If no reason given: The absence will be marked as unauthorised. ​Under the new national rules introduced by the Department of Education, a penalty notice will be served when a child has missed 10 or more sessions (5 days) for unauthorised reasons in any rolling 10-week period. This is in line with national guidance and Southwark’s Code of Conduct.

As detailed in our Attendance Policy, the Head of school/ Executive headteacher may authorise absences for exceptional circumstances, such as secondary school appointments, religious observation, special family events or serious and sudden family illness.
