At Dulwich Hamlet we believe that children should be playing sport to develop movement, athleticism, teamwork and problem-solving skills. Outside of our PE curriculum, we offer a wide range of sporting opportunities for children to involve themselves in.
Our offer and approach are designed to allow children who are already confident to excel in their chosen sport, whilst encouraging everyone to step outside of their comfort zone and find enjoyment in a new activity.
We also have staff in school with specialised SEND expertise and qualifications, including dyslexia teacher training, reading therapy, talking and drawing therapy.
The depth of opportunity is something we’re really proud of. From hockey, football, and rugby fixtures to basketball, badminton, track cycling, and hard ball cricket—we offer a rich and varied programme that encourages children to find their passion.
We also believe in the value of shared experiences and competition. That’s why we aim for every child to take part in at least one sports event annually.
Whether it's a local cross country meet with neighbouring state and private schools, a swimming gala, or performing at our Trust’s dance festival, these events give children the chance to experience the fun of representing their school and connecting with others. Some children may discover a hidden talent. Others may simply enjoy being active with friends. Either way, sport at our school is about participation, enjoyment, and building confidence.
