DHJS Awarded Gold ARC Accreditation
We are delighted to announce that Dulwich Hamlet Junior School has been awarded Gold Accreditation from the Attachment Research Community (ARC) for being an outstanding trauma-informed school that exemplifies the power of relational practice.
The accreditation recognises the school’s commitment to creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child feels safe, valued and supported to thrive. In their feedback, the ARC team praised our fully trauma-informed Behaviour and Relationships Policy, our reflective and inclusive practice, and the positive impact on pupils’ wellbeing and engagement, particularly for our most vulnerable learners.
Kate Bainbridge and Usha Singh from the Southwark Virtual School commended the school’s “extensive and reflectively implemented provision” and noted that our broad and engaging curriculum “sparks curiosity and success” for all pupils.
Assistant Headteacher Beth Harris, Pastoral and Community Partnership Lead, said:
“We’re absolutely delighted to receive this recognition and so grateful for the thoughtful feedback. It means a great deal to have our trauma-informed and relational practice acknowledged in this way. We’re very proud of the whole team’s commitment to creating such a nurturing and inclusive environment and will continue to look for ways to develop our practice further.”
We are honoured to be recognised as a model of trauma-informed education and look forward to sharing our approach more widely as part of the ARC network in the future.
