World Book Day 2026

Today was all about the love of reading as we celebrated World Book Day. Children continued to find sponsorship for the Readathon which finished today. On World Book Day our children enjoyed their class swaps to read with other year groups; the children took part in some ‘Drop Everything and Reads’ and made Dioramas of scenes from favourite stories. We also took part in a nationwide ‘live’ lesson (recorded from yesterday!) and a footy themed quiz! The day ended with a joyous ‘Whose Book is it Anyway?’ improv assembly where Ms Begley, Mr Gold, Ms Jones and Ms Gorbutt-Rice made fools of themselves for the love of reading, hosted by an extremely foolish Gandalf. Thank you to the PTA for organising the book sale after school.
