PSHE

We develop confident, considerate citizens who understand emotions, build healthy relationships, manage risks, and make informed choices.

Curriculum intent

At  Dulwich Hamlet, PSHE is central to developing children's emotional  wellbeing, social awareness, and decision-making skills. Taught weekly using  the Jigsaw programme, adapted with Christopher Winter Project materials, our  curriculum meets statutory requirements for Relationships, Sex, and Health  Education.

How we teach

PSHE  lessons follow six key topics across the year: Being Me in My World,  Celebrating Difference, Changing Me, Dreams and Goals, Healthy Me, and  Relationships. Mindfulness activities support emotional awareness, while  individual PSHE journals help children reflect on their personal growth and  relationships.

Impact

Through  our PSHE curriculum, children develop self-awareness, empathy, and  resilience. They gain practical skills to navigate friendships, make  responsible choices, and maintain their wellbeing.

How you can help at home

Encourage  open conversations about emotions, friendships, and decision-making. Model  positive relationships and resilience in everyday situations. Support your  child in setting goals, managing challenges, and practising mindfulness  techniques.
