5J attend the Charter Trust Dance Festival 2026
On 21st May, the Charter Trust Dance Festival took place at Lyndhurst Primary School, showcasing the vibrant talents of students from across the trust's primary schools. This annual event is a joyous celebration of movement and dance, bringing together young performers to share their artistic expressions and interpretations.
Representing Dulwich Hamlet Junior School was class 5J, who took to the stage with enthusiasm and creativity. Under the guidance of their dedicated dance teacher, Gina Thompson, the students brought their chosen song to life, a piece selected as part of their Africa topic. The performance was a testament to the students' hard work, as they took charge of the choreography and interpretation, demonstrating their understanding and appreciation of dance as an expressive art form.
The festival was not only a platform for performance but also a space for appreciation and inspiration. Students from different schools had the opportunity to watch and applaud each other’s creative endeavours. Ivy, a student from 5J, shared her excitement about the event, saying, “I really liked it because we got to watch everyone's dance.” Her words captured the essence of the festival — a celebration of artistic unity and mutual admiration.
The Charter Trust Dance Festival continues to be a highlight of the school calendar, inspiring students to explore the world of dance and fostering a community of young artists who support and inspire each other.
