Schools' Cricket Day

April 24, 2026

To celebrate 50 days to the ICC Women’s World cup, Dulwich Hamlet joined schools across the country in taking part in additional cricket activities. Each class had a bonus 30 minute PE session and played a game of Pavilion representing the teams who have qualified for the tournament being held in England this summer. The Y6 games in particular were nail-biters with each of them going down to the final few balls. Well done to all involved and thank you to the staff for organising the fun.

Meanwhile, a group of budding superstar cricketers in Years 3 and 4 had an amazing day out at the Surrey Foundation Cricket Skills Session over in Raynes Park. The Girls learnt about the World Cup (they even saw the trophy) and played fun sessions throughout the day, with some competitive games as well as skills sessions to keep them engaged. It’s fair to say they were buzzing! Thank you to the team at Surrey CCC for organising such a great day out and for all the free goodies for our Hamleteers. Thank you also to Ms Begley, Mr Oviawe and Mrs Besim for organising and taking them.
