We know that taking part is what really counts but we do also like to win when we join a competition. However, this week there was a certain joy in the fact David managed to take on and defeat, not one but 10 of our best chess players.
David took part in a Chess Simul against children from across the school in a one-off tournament watched by the all in assembly on Thursday morning. Chess fever took the school by storm as children were enthused by David’s passion for the game.
We have chess sets available in the library which can be played on any day (not just board games Friday).
